Did you know that templates can be created with SolidWorks Composer? Styles, or “Mini Templates” can be created right within Composer’s Styles tab. Styles control specific attributes of 2D elements, such as Text, Photos, Annotations, and Interactive Arrows.
Step 1
All you need to do to set a standard is to create a 2D element and make that element look exactly like you want the standard to be. Once it looks right, simply select it and click on the “Workshops” tab at the top of the screen and select the Styles button.
Step 2
In the “Styles” workshop click on “New” and name it. This will auto save and will be a new permanent setting. From here, simply click the check boxes on the right to select what this Style “Template” is specifying.
Step 3
Simply use the new template. Make a new 2D element select it and click on the “Styles” Tab at the top of the page. With the new 2D element selected, click on which Style you would like to assign to this element. Going forward, by right-clicking any style and selecting “Set as Default”, Composer will use these settings for any 2D element created in the future.
