Now that we have imported the CAD model to Composer and set up the Step by Step instructions, it is time to create the Word document and link to Composer images. We want to link these images because if the image updates in Composer we want to update them in the document. First is to format the manual with a title page, other written out steps, and have locations set up for where images will be placed to better communicate the assembly instructions.

Then it will be time to bring in the images and link them. Use the Insert < Image. Browse to the image you want, and select it. From here use the pull down arrow next to Insert, click on the Insert and Link. It is very important to use this option over just the Insert because this is what ties this document to Composer.

We want the document linked to Composer because if the images need to update then this document will reference the correct files for proper update.

From here we just need to finish adding the text and the images using the Insert and Link to finish this document. Be sure to save the document as a Word document, then it is ready to be saved as a PDF. If you need to update the image of the document with the new images from Composer. You will use the High Resolution Image Workshop again, checking the Views box to save all, and save to the same directory as the previous save. This will overwrite the existing images, be sure to maintain the same names of the already existing views in Composer so the path between the Word Document and images are the same. Click File, then in the lower right hand corner click Edit Links to Files.

Hold shift and select all files that need to be updated, then click Update Now. The document is updated in a matter of second and you are ready to republish your printable documentation!
