One of the most important (and enjoyable) things that we do as an engineering team at Hawk Ridge Systems is plan and execute our regular Night School sessions. It gives us a great opportunity to get out and meet our customers, hear about the cool stuff they’re designing, and share some useful information about how you can get the most out of your design software.
This summer, our Simulation team is getting in on the action with a Night School session focused on stress and flow analysis in SOLIDWORKS.
Did you know that every license of SOLIDWORKS includes some simple stress and flow analysis in SimulationXpress and FloXpress? And that with SOLIDWORKS Premium you get one of the most comprehensive linear static stress analysis tools available?
We’ll share information about stress and flow analysis tools available to everyone that has SOLIDWORKS, but focus on the stress analysis capabilities in SOLIDWORKS Premium, SOLIDWORKS Simulation Professional and Simulation Premium, and the CFD capabilities of SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation.
Our aim is to arm you with practical information about these tools that you can put into action tomorrow when you get back to work, including:
- Typical setup processes
How to walk through a typical analysis setup process, and what the choices you’re making really mean in your real life design work. - Results and result interpretation
It’s great to get pretty pictures about the results you’re getting, but what do they mean? And how do you make your product better? - Common issues and troubleshooting processes
What do people do wrong, and how do we find and correct common problems? - Automation and Optimization tools
How can I do this better, and more efficiently?
If you haven’t been to a Night School session before, they are accessible, complimentary technical learning sessions about specific areas of SOLIDWORKS software. We lock the salespeople in the closet for the afternoon, and bring our local engineering teams out to meet with you, and share information in a seminar-style presentation format. If you’re lucky, we even spring for some refreshments. Our engineering team is on-hand to discuss any aspect of SOLIDWORKS or Simulation you might be having trouble with. We love hearing about what you’re working on, or what you might want to see at a future Night School session.
In Canada, I’ll present Night School sessions in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary. In the US, my colleague Damon Tordini will present in Orange County, the San Francisco Bay Area, and in Seattle. We’ll get together for a web-based version online for those who can’t make it out, or are located in other areas.
